Newtown, 5moth20th 1841.

Beloved Friend

Samuel Hart

I thought it right to inform thee that I intended being at thy House on Seventh day evening first day next I expect to have a meeting at Corcord school-house at 10 oclock in the morning and somewhere in the neighbourhood of Hugh Thomsons on the chain Bridge in the afternoon. And I want Samuel Hart to be with me in the forenoon & that isn't all I want for I want him to go with me to Shrewsbury sometime within a few weeks & I don't know how much more I shall want when I see him -- In much love to thee thy dear wife & precious Mary

farewell

Edw. Hicks
